If you're running Sunmi hardware at the register, in the kitchen, or out on a delivery route, you already know the one thing that'll bring a smart terminal to a dead stop faster than a software update: the wrong roll of paper. Sunmi builds a genuinely wide lineup — desktop terminals, handheld mobile units, kiosks, standalone kitchen printers and each one is built around a specific print head width. Load the wrong width and you're either jamming the printer or wasting half a roll's worth of paper margin.
We've been supplying thermal paper to POS operators, restaurants, and retailers since 1989, so we put together this guide the way we'd walk a customer through it over the phone: by Sunmi model, by paper width, no guesswork required.
Why Sunmi Paper Sizing Trips People Up
Sunmi's printers fall into a few hardware families, and each family was engineered around a particular thermal head width — either 58mm (2 1/4") or 80mm (3 1/8"). The model number on the unit (V2, V2 Pro, P2, T2, K2, and so on) tells you which family it belongs to, and that tells you which roll width and length it needs. Mix that up and the paper either won't track through the print mechanism or you'll be changing rolls twice as often as you need to.
Below is the model-by-model breakdown, organized the same way we'd walk you through it on the phone: by hardware type, then by the exact roll that fits.
