Ink Compatibility Icons Help

Every product in the PaperRolls-N-More catalog has a set of ink compatibility icons that appears on the product information. Each colored icon represents a specific printer and ink type, with a colored ring around each ink compatibility icon. The colored ring tells you how that media performs with that ink, so you can match a roll to your printer before you order.

Green ring — works BEST with this ink

Why the ring matters …

The colored ring around each ink compatibility icon is an additional key that shows whether a product looks “good” or looks the “best” with a specific type of ink. The goal is to make it easier for you to judge how a roll performs with your print technology before you order.

Print technology constantly changes and improves as the industry evolves. Some products perform very well on some printers straight out of the box, while others require additional printer adjustments to reach optimal performance. A single icon can’t tell you which is which — the ring can.

How we determined compatibility …

Compatibility ratings come from the media manufacturer’s published test data and the printer OEM’s guidance for each ink set. These are the benchmarks those ratings are measured against.

Every product in our catalog has a set of ink compatibility icons that appear on the product page. Each colored icon represents a specific printer and ink type, and the colored ring around it grades how the product performs with that ink. Let’s look at the icon for printers that use DYE ink as an example.

THIS PRODUCT WORKS BEST WITH THIS TYPE OF INK

Products with the green colored “BEST” ring around the ink compatibility icon delivered exceptional print performance with that ink type. These products run well on OEM settings right out of the box — high quality prints with no adjustments to the printer or RIP software. Choose these products if you are looking for superior results in a short amount of time.

DGOOD

THIS PRODUCT WORKS BUT MIGHT REQUIRE ADJUSTMENTS IN ORDER TO PRODUCE ACCEPTABLE RESULTS

Products with the yellow colored “GOOD” ring around the ink compatibility icon delivered acceptable print performance with that ink type. These products run on OEM settings, but need adjustments to the printer, the RIP software, or both to produce acceptable results. Choose these products if you are comfortable making the adjustments yourself and you have the time to do it.
